Vegas Baby!!!

We just got back from our Vegas trip last night so we are tired but it was worth it, we had such a great time. We began our weekend with our friends Rick, Jane and their cute little boys, Vaughn(almost 4) and Mason(almost 2). We spent our first night at their house so we had time to relax and visit before we got to our hotel on the strip. I wanted to take Vaughn and Mason home with me, they are so cute!!! On Saturday we went to Red Rock Canyon with Rick, Jane and the boys to drive the loop around the canyon, then to lunch before we said goodbye. Here's some pictures of us with the boys.

Saturday afternoon we were off to our hotel on the strip. We stayed at the Wynn hotel and it was beautiful. Our first day on the strip was spent shopping of course!

We shopped till we dropped then headed back to our hotel for dinner. We had to wait in line about an hour for the buffet but it was amazing so we were happy. Here's a picture of the dining room.

I'm not sure how we did it but we were out until 2am that night just walking around and people watching.
Sunday finally came, yes, the big day!!! We got up and headed down to the lobby to pick up our Garth tickets and scored a free brunch buffet with our tickets so that was a nice bonus. Sunday was another day of checking out the strip and more shopping before getting ready for the big event. Here we are all dressed up for Garth!!!

I've been waiting almost 20 years to see Garth Brooks and he did not disappoint. I was truly amazed at how talented he was. He played for 2 1/2 hours. Just him and his guitar, and Trish Yearwood who made a small appearance. Seeing Garth Brooks was a dream come true for me and a memory that will last a lifetime.

Off to Vegas!!

A trip down memory lane

Yesterday I dug out my old Garth Brooks CD's that I've had forever. I got my first one almost 19 years ago when I was a high school freshman, then collected them all after that. Some of them have my initials written on them from when I traveled with my church youth group every summer. We would all listen to our portable CD players as we traveled and traded music around. Those old CD players would skip so often in the car that I don't know how I got through one disk, but I managed. I, for one am happy that the day of the portable CD player is in the past, and the day of the ipod is here.

Has Craig gone country?

I don't think so, I think Garth just gave him another reason to shop. For those of you who know Craig, did you ever think he would have western wear in his wardrobe? Oh, the things we do for the ones we love. This will actually be Craig's third country concert. So far he has gone with me to see Rascal Flatts and Brad Paisley and he did survive, he even kept a good attitude. That is one of the things I love the most about Craig, he supports me in all that I do even if it means "going country".

Countdown to Garth!

These boots are made for walking! So today is the beginning of the official Garth countdown. For those of you who don't know what I'm referring to, I'm talking about the great Garth Brooks. Yes, Craig and I will be off to Vegas on Friday for a Garth Brooks concert on Sunday. These are the boots that Craig got for me to wear to the show. I have wanted to see Garth for almost 20 years, so this is a big thing for me. Poor Craig, he really doesn't like country music so he's just along for the ride but I guess he can't complain because he gets a trip to Vegas out of it.

Happy Father's Day!!!

Last night we went to my brother in law, Kevin and his wife Trish's house for Sunday dinner and to celebrate Father's Day. Sunday dinners are a tradition in the Brown family. It gives us a chance to spend time together as a family after a busy week. We love to be with our nieces Makenzie, Hailey and Sophie.
