Craig's nature-tastic picture

Craig saw this beautiful dragonfly just hanging around outside his work a few days ago. He used his dad's fancy camera to get this picture. National Geographic, eat your heart out!!

Has it been 5 years?

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary. I feel like the last 5 years have just flown by. I still can't believe how lucky I am to have found my amazing husband. I thank my heavenly father daily for all the love and support Craig gives me. He is supportive in everything I do and all that I want to do. He is patient, kind and selfless. No matter how tired he is he gives me a back rub every night, even if he gets home from work at 2am. He's my whole world. So happy anniversary Craig, I love you!!

Long time no post!!

I've been pretty busy for the last week so I haven't posted. Last weekend my mom was here for a visit. We had a great time together. On Saturday we rode the Link Light Rail into Seattle for the day where we shopped, ate and went to the Mariner's game. It was about 85 that day and beautiful in Seattle. The pictures below are from our day out. They're really not that great. I'm kicking myself now for not taking more pictures.

Yesterday I watched my 3 cute nieces for a few hours, it was a lot of fun. I helped Makenzie, who is 6, organize her rock and cup collection. The rock collection are rocks that Makenzie "picked up while on the crystal path". In reality I think the rocks were bought at Ikea for decoration. The cups are wet, crumpled up, paper dixie cups that were at one time stacked nicely in the bathroom. I had no idea that a 6 year old could be so entertained by rocks and cups.

One other eventful thing that has happened over the last week is our old portable a/c unit decided to leak water all over our bedroom floor. We had a huge, stinky, puddle on our carpet that took forever to dry. Kevin and Trish have a carpet cleaner that we borrowed to clean up the huge mess. I thought for sure our carpet was ruined but no, it's ok now.

Here are the pictures I took during my visit with my mom, like I said, I should have taken more.

Happy Birthday to the one I love!!

Today Craig turned the big 3-8! We celebrated with the family at Cheesecake Factory and had a great time. Here's the birthday boy with me and his cute nieces. Makenzie and Hailey gave Craig cute homemade gifts including a crown that Craig proudly wore for the entire dinner. You're a great uncle Craig.

Here's a bonus picture of cute Makenzie with her new ruby slippers that we gave her for her birthday a few days ago. They're a little bit too big for her but I guess that means she'll get to wear them that much longer.

Happy birthday Makenzie!!

Today we went to our niece Makenzie's 6th birthday party. She and her two sisters are such cute little girls. The pictures speak for themselves.

Look what we just came home to!!

We got flocked. It's after midnight on Wednesday and this is what our yard looks like. We laughed so hard when we drove up to our house and saw this. This is a way that volunteers collect money for breast cancer. We will donate $5.00 to have the flock removed and another $5.00 to flock someone else. This is the most creative way to earn money that I've ever seen. These pictures aren't the best. It's late, dark and we're tired. Enjoy!!

That's a pretty nice bike you got there Craig

Craig put the wheels on his new bike this morning and took it for a test ride. I love seeing him so and excited, it's worth every penny. Happy early birthday Craig!

Oh happy day!!

This is a very happy day for Craig!! He got the new bike he's been wanting for 5 years. When Craig and I were engaged we moved in with his parents for a few months and Craig's bike got stolen from their house. He's been talking about getting a new bike for so long and today is the day!! The Fed Ex guy came a few hours ago with a huge box. Craig never asks for anything, he is such a self-less husband so I'm glad that he finally got something just for him that he will love. Here it is waiting for Craig to come home, I can't wait!!

Not much going on today

We're going to Ikea in a few minutes to look for a mirror but other than that we are very boring. I'm glad it cooled off around here, only 80 today. Here I am happy to have Craig home with me today. Have a great weekend!

My new Vanity!!!

After lots of hard work, I am very excited because my new vanity is complete except for the glass top that will be here tomorrow. Here are the "after" pictures. Craig still needs to mount the mirror, and I need a new chair and light. The chair I'm using now is an ugly one that we have had in our garage for a few years. I just love knowing that I did all the work myself and it turned out exactly how I wanted it!!!

My $10.00 Craig's List find

I've been looking for a make-up vanity for quite some time now but I could never find what I was looking for at a price I was willing to pay, until now. This is my Craig's List score. I paid ten dollars for this little beauty last Saturday and I couldn't be happier. I spent my day today sanding, priming and painting. I ordered pink glass knobs that should be here by the end of the week and I got a piece of glass from my mother-in -law that will be cut to size for a glass top. By this weekend I will have a brand new vanity!! The best part is that I did all the work myself. The only thing Craig had to do for me was lift the vanity up on the work bench and show me how to use the palm sander.

Here are the before pictures.

Craig took this picture of me sanding but I cropped myself out of it because I look pretty scary. I don't think anybody wants to see my un-showered self.

Hopefully I'll have the after pictures by this weekend.

We spent the 4th with our family at Craig's parents house.

Here's some cute pictures of our nieces, Makenzie and Hailey with their giant sparklers.

Celebrating the 4th on the 3rd

This morning a very rare thing happened in our home, something as rare as a Dodo Bird sighting. We got up at 6:00am!!! on a Saturday no less. That's right, we were up and out the door by 7:00am.
Every year our ward celebrates the Fourth of July with a pancake breakfast. I am one of the lucky few who serves on the activities comity, so Craig and I got to be there to make juice, beat eggs and make pancake batter, and you guessed it, we also got to clean up!!! This is actually my favorite activity of the year even though is requires us to rise and shine with the roosters. We always have such a good time once we're there and it reminds us how lucky we are to live in this great country and attend our beautiful church.

Here's a picture to document us getting ready to leave the house at 7:00am!! Such a rarity.

Craig looks like he's having a great time doing dishes. Thanks Craig!

One of the things I love about our church is all the babies. Here I am getting my "baby fix" when I should have been helping Craig with the dishes.

Do I look 33?

No!! Another dreaded birthday. Oh well, at lease I got to celebrate it with my wonderful husband in Vegas last weekend. Now I'm off to have dinner with Craig and our friends, Dan and kat.

A few hours later...

Here we are celebrating with Dan and Kat. Thanks for the tiara and the "smurf flowers" Dan and Kat!
