New vanity pictures!!

You may have seen the pictures I posted a few months ago of my Craigslist vanity that I transformed. Well.. it's changed a little bit. Craig put up a different mirror, some cute shelves and a hanging lamp. I'm not sure about the placement of the lamp or if I want to keep it there long term but for now it provides the light I need without having to hard wire anything. I love sitting at my vanity, it's so cute (yes, I know I'm a dork, In fact Craig called me "a new breed of dork") Here it is...
I love how this picture showcases what a crappy job we did painting our walls a few years ago. Love the streaks.
I just need Craig to do something about the huge mess of cords, hide them.

What a night

I don't have a picture to post but I just wanted to vent about the evening I just had. It all started this afternoon when I did a little shopping at Wal-mart. I got some cleaning supplies for a long day of cleaning. I brought my cleaning supplies upstairs, emptied my supplies including a bottle of Murphy's Oil Soap for my wood floors. I carelessly placed the oil soap on a ledge upstairs and began cleaning my two upstairs bathrooms. Well... several hours later as I vacuumed upstairs, I knocked the oil soap off the ledge onto my hardwood floors below. The bottle exploded all over the floor and splattered all over our brand new sofa that we bought last week. I panicked because my first thought was that oil would never come out of my upholstery. With tears in my eyes I called my neighbor and friend, Sarah who came over with cleaning supplies of her own and her new steam cleaner. We worked and worked and I am happy to say my sofa is as good as new!! I then had to tend to the huge mess of soap residue on my floor. Luckily I just bought a new mop today so I put it to good use. I just got done mopping the floor three times and I think I'll head downstairs for round four.

It's been a long, busy week

It's finally Saturday!!! I've had a very long week.  I worked all week for a dentist in my ward and I am pooped.  I haven't been posting very much because I don't think anybody really wants to read about my exciting days at work.  This morning I got to sleep in then get my hair cut.  Here I am with my new cut.  I kept the length but had more layers cut to frame my face.  I'm also working next week so not much posting will happen.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Old Country Buffet

Today is Bill's birthday and he knows how to party!!! We just got back from Old Country buffet, Bill's dinner request.  I guess birthday's only come once a year so we gladly gave in and celebrated the way he wanted to.  The girls actually loved the food and ate lots of dessert.   What can I say, I love Bill, he's a great surrogate dad and he always goes out of his way to make sure his family is happy.  I hope he had a great day.  Happy Birthday Bill!!!
Here's the birthday boy!!!

I just like this picture of Hailey and her messy plate, it makes me laugh.

Fish and Butt

Yesterday was full of fun and some not so fun surprises.  Mom, Edie, Craig and I got up bright and early so we would have a full day in Seattle.  We had been on the road less than five minutes heading to the light rail station when my car started flashing a "check gauge" light and beeping.  We pulled over and by that time my car was steaming under the hood.  After consulting with his dad, Craig let the car cool off, drove across the street and added coolant to my very thirsty car.  We hit the road thinking everything was fine and headed to the train station.

We were finally in Seattle!! We walked up the stairs from the train station and Edie said "these stairs smell like fish and butt".  Well Edie, you're right, the stairs did have quite the stench.

We took the water taxi from Pier 50 across Elliot Bay to West Seattle where we had lunch and strolled along Alki Beach.  Edie enjoyed walking along the water and searching for just the right rock to bring home to her little brother Isaac.

We headed back to the car after a long day only to find that there was a river of coolant under my car.  Our fun day was interrupted again.  Ok, now it's confirmed, my car has a leaky hose.  We had to call a tow truck, wait an hour and get a ride home from Craig's dad Bill. Thanks Bill!!

Oh well, we still had a great day to say the least.  I'll be sad to see Mom and Edie leave in a few hours.

Toaster Strudel

Yesterday my mom and my niece Edie arrived!! I picked them up at the train station in Tacoma and we headed to the store to get some groceries for the weekend.  One thing that Edie was looking forward to was trying her first pop tart.  I guess she's never had a pop tart before so she thought this vacation was the perfect time to sucker me into spoiling her with food she's not allowed to have at home.   We got to the store and I made the mistake of asking her if she wanted an actual pop tart or a toaster strudel.  After much deliberation she got both.  We walked out with cinnamon roll toaster strudel's and chocolate fudge pop tarts, I'm not sure which one sounds more disgusting. Yes, I am a sucker and I always have been.  now we have a long busy day ahead of us.  We are going to spend the day in Seattle then we'll have dinner with the Brown family.
This is Edie, excited to try her first toaster strudel

Minute to win it

I am so excited because I got to meet some of Craig's extended family last night.  Craig's Aunt Lyn, Uncle Hugh and cousin Mindy are up visiting from Colorado.  We has so much fun with them last night.  We had a family dinner, dessert as you can see all over Hailey's face, then finished off the night playing "minute to win it".  They brought this game with them from Colorado.  It's a home made game modeled after the t.v. game show that has contestants play unique games using just household materials.  We all got a good laugh watching each other try to play.

I think Trish has a natural talent for shaking ping-pong balls from a Kleenex box tied behind her back, good job Trish!!
cute Hailey really enjoyed her dessert
